Career Identity
Your Career Deserves an Identity of Its Own.
A CV tells people what you claim. Career Identity helps show what has been checked.
It is your permanent professional record: one number, one verified history, and a digital card in the MidCareer app. Show it to an employer to prove what has been verified, instead of arranging the same checks and references again for every application.

Why Career Identity Matters
A CV Is Easy to Write.
It Is Hard to Trust.
Hiring decisions rest on claims that are difficult to check. Employers cannot easily tell which qualifications, positions and skills have been confirmed, and candidates are often asked to send sensitive documents to people they do not know.
Every time you change stage, platform or employer, your record usually has to be rebuilt from nothing. Career Identity is designed to fix these three problems.
Claims are hard to check
A polished CV looks the same whether or not anything in it has been verified.
Documents travel too far
Passports, national ID cards and certificates are sent repeatedly to unfamiliar people and organizations.
You keep starting again
Education, training and experience are scattered across forms, files and systems.
What Career Identity Is
Your Career Identity Sits at the Centre.
Career Identity is not another app. It is your own professional record, and every platform in the MidCareer ecosystem connects around it.
- ✓You own it. You decide what each employer or recruitment partner can see.
- ✓It follows you. Education, training, experience and verification build up in one record as you move from study to work, between employers and into new roles.
- ✓It is checked. Verification shows only the checks that have actually been completed.
Training and certification are features within these platforms, not a separate application.

What Makes Up
Your Career Identity.
Career Identity is not a single document. It is five connected parts that work together.
A permanent number
Your Career Identity Number (CIN) is issued after successful identity verification and stays the same throughout your participation in supported ecosystem services.
A growing record
Education, employment, projects, skills, certifications, languages and references, kept in one place and added to over time.
Evidence labels
Every career fact shows where it comes from, so what you declared is never confused with what has been verified.
A strength indicator
A five-level indicator shows how well your record is supported by evidence. It is not a score of your talent.
A digital card
A card in the MidCareer app shows your CIN and a QR code so others can check permitted information.
How It Works
From First Profile
to Verified Identity.
Most people can have a working Career Identity in five steps.
- 1
Create your profile
Download the app and enter your education, experience and skills.
- 2
Verify your identity
Complete the one-time identity verification process.
- 3
Receive your CIN
A unique Career Identity Number is linked to your record.
- 4
Strengthen your record
Request qualification verification and references where available.
- 5
Show your card
Show it to employers as evidence of what has been verified, without more reference requests.
Why It Matters to You
Be Believed Without
Handing Over Everything.
Career Identity gives you a way to be taken seriously on evidence, while keeping control of your information.
Prove more, share less
Show your card and permitted verification status instead of sending private documents again and again.
Stand out on evidence
Verified qualifications and supported references make your record clearer than a CV alone.
Never start from zero
Your record follows you from study to first job, between employers and into new roles.
Keep control
You decide what each employer or recruitment partner can see.
Open more doors
A credible record helps in Kenya and, where available, with international employers.
Collect references once
Your referees confirm your experience once. Your card shows the result, so they are not asked again by every new employer.
Why It Matters to Employers
Hiring on Clearer
Evidence.
Employers and recruitment partners benefit when candidates can show what has been checked.
When a candidate shows their Career Identity Card, verified qualifications and references are labelled on the record, so the same referees do not have to be contacted again for every application.
Employers see only the information a candidate has permitted, and they remain responsible for their own hiring decisions.
No repeated reference chasing
Verified references and qualifications are shown on the card, so recruiters can rely on them instead of asking the same referees again.
Clear provenance
Self-declared, confirmed and verified information are never mixed together.
Respect for candidates
Candidates share what is needed for an application, not their whole file.
Evidence Labels
Know What Has Been Verified
and What Has Not.
Career Identity labels where each career fact comes from, so a CIN is never mistaken for proof of everything in a record.
Self-Declared
The professional entered the information directly. It has not been independently verified.
Confirmed by You
AI suggested the information, and the professional accepted or edited it.
University Verified
An authorized university registrar confirmed the relevant academic qualification through the verification process.
Reference Verified
A referee or participating endorser supported a relevant aspect of the professional's experience.
Verification for TVET qualifications, technical certificates, college diplomas and other awarding bodies will be introduced as eligible institutional integrations become available.
Professional credibility grows when the supporting evidence is clear.
Career Identity Strength
Stronger Evidence Means
a Clearer Record.
Career Identity includes a five-level indicator that shows how well a record is supported by evidence. As you add eligible verification, the indicator can reflect the increased support.
It is not a measure of intelligence, talent, personal value or guaranteed employability, and it is never a ranking of people by ability.
The Career Identity Card
Show That Your Profile Is Verified.
Your Career Identity Card is in the app. It displays your Career Identity Number (CIN) and a QR code, so an employer or other person can check that your identity is valid and see the verification information you have chosen to share.
Show it to an employer to demonstrate that your identity, qualifications and references have been verified, so you do not have to arrange the same checks again for every application. Your passport, certificates and other private documents are not exposed.
The card reflects only the checks that have actually been completed. A CIN does not replace a government-issued ID and does not guarantee employment. Learn how the card works.
Privacy and Control
Your Career Information
Stays Under Your Control.
Career Identity is designed to minimize unnecessary data retention and to give you control over your career information.
Temporary document processing
Uploaded identity documents and files used for AI-assisted suggestions are processed for a limited period, then deleted rather than stored indefinitely.
You approve AI suggestions
AI-generated changes become part of your record only when you accept them.
Controlled sharing
A CIN or digital card does not give anyone access to your complete record or private documents.
Privacy-conscious checks
A public CIN check reveals only the information you permit.
Read the MidCareer Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Honest Limits
What Career Identity Is Not.
Clear limits protect candidates and employers alike.
Not a government ID
A CIN does not replace a passport, national ID card or any other government-issued document.
Not a password
It does not give access to your account, and sharing it does not give others access.
Not a guarantee of a job
It helps you be believed. It does not promise interviews, offers or a particular salary.
Not proof of everything
A CIN does not mean every skill, position or qualification in a record has been verified. The labels show what has.
Not a ranking
Strength shows how well a record is supported, not how talented a person is.
Who It Is For

Kind of Career.
Career Identity is for anyone building a professional record in Kenya.
Questions
Before You Begin.
Will employers still ask for references?
Employers make their own hiring decisions and may still ask questions. But when your references and qualifications have been verified and are shown on your card, they have clear evidence to rely on, so repeated requests to your referees should not be needed.
What is a Career Identity Number (CIN)?
A permanent, unique number linked to your professional record after successful identity verification. It identifies your record without exposing your private documents.
Do I have to pay for Career Identity?
Creating a standard candidate account is intended to be free for individual candidates. Where an institution charges to verify a qualification, the fee is disclosed before the request proceeds.
Can an employer see my documents?
No. Showing your card or CIN does not give access to your private documents or your complete record. Employers see only what you permit.
Is the CIN a login?
No. It is not a password and does not give access to your account.
Can I delete my Career Identity?
Yes. You can delete your account from the app or use the account deletion request page. Your CIN is then deactivated.
See the account deletion request page and the Privacy Policy.
